Not your average roadworthy certificate in geelong
November 30, 2017We’ve done plenty of roadworthy certificates in Geelong over the years and occasionally we get a goodie. Our most recent was a 1968 HK Monaro that is pretty close to original condition. We thought we’d use that particular roadworthy inspection as an opportunity to briefly talk a bit about what is actually involved when it comes to issuing a RWC. Oh, and you can take a look at the awesome Monaro in the video.
We get loads of enquiries about roadworthy inspections. And something people often tell us is that their car should pass the inspection no worries as it’s just been serviced and it’s running fine – not always the case! There’s more to a roadworthy inspection than just a mechanical check. A RWC is more a safety based inspection that is done to ensure that the vehicle is safe to be on the road. Some of the items checked include:
- seatbelts
- headlights and indicators
- windscreen and wipers
- steering and suspension
- brakes
- wheels and tyres
- body and chassis
VicRoads have strict requirements that must be adhered to when carrying out inspections. We are a licensed roadworthy inspector and must ensure we are up to date with testing regulations. Infact Brett recently completed a full day refresher course with VicRoads that was mandatory in order to keep his licence. We are regularly audited by VicRoads to ensure their standards are being met and this involves checking the premises and making sure our records are correct and up to date.
If you require a roadworthy certificate in Geelong then we can help you. Or if you’d simply like more information then either contact us or even get in touch with VicRoads.
